The existing tax structure had been put in place by the previous corrupt repuplican incumbant governor, paid off with bribes and favors from the major oil producers to state legislators. Palin enacted a fair tax structure that represented the wishes of Alaska citizens and recognized the non-Renewable nature of Alaska's natural resources.

Palin couldn't even recognize the non-renewable nature of Alaska's resources in her speech tonight. She said "America should produce more oil and [natural] gas."
