How many people think McCain still did the right thing by picking Palin? Do you think the women's vote he garnered by simply saying her name (for the women sheep that jumped on because it was a girl before they even knew she was the Governor of a state) still holds sway?

The interview with Charlie Gibson was a glimpse (for better or worse is debatable) into who she is without a teleprompter, cheering crowds, or advisors by her side.

In my opinion, he will find that he's done himself a disservice and possibly lost the election because of this choice. As more and more people come off the initial flood "high" of a new face in politics. Will they ride the wave like Obama has been able to, or will it wain?

Or, in the long run, would he have done better to pick Romney (even though he's a guy, so in many women's eyes - less competent).

She is going to lose this election for him... Not only her lack of speaking to the public, but you can tell she is scripted by Bushies and she is incompetent to do this job. I think she is going to be made to look like a complete fool at the debate with Biden. I think it is the begining of the end for them...

2 weeks of tutoring and she already sounds as good as Obama who has been being tutored and advised 24/7 for 18 months.

Definitely a great pick for McCain. The fact that she is dominating the airwaves is a clear sign that the left is running scared. I'm still not sure I will vote McCain, but I feel alittle better that Obarry and Joey won't be in the White house.

I have to agree, and not because I'm a flaming liberal. I think their whole campaign stinks of Rovian tactics and the American people will not stand for it. Yeah, she's great, I'd love to scrapbook with her, but she's going to crack under pressure and it will cost him the election.

If McCain/Palin win the election, he's done the right thing, regardless of reasons.

If he dies while in office, he's done the wrong thing for all the wrong reasons.

Baaa...

Did you see the interview with Gibson? You have confidence in her abilities. Can you name one ability she has demonstrated and provide evidence to back it up? Foreign relations? Fiscal responsibility?

And about her record... what record? She's the governor of a state with a population of roughly Boise, Idaho!! lol

This should be good... I await your pearls of wisdom on this one.

Right. She ran something. Actually two somethings; a city and then a state.

So you believe in the same things she does? Like not answering the question?

Let's see:
  • Palin hit the ball out of the park at the convention
  • Palin is drawing massive crowds on the stump
  • She has resulted in huge increase in donations to McCain
  • Her selection has caused a huge move towards McCain in all polls
  • Her first interview she aces
  • Her selection enables McCain to appropriate Obama's change message
  • Her selection totally derails the Obama campaign for two weeks (to date)
  • Her selection has the dems pondering a replacement of Biden
  • Her selection advances the cause of women more in two weeks than traditional feminism has in 100+ years
And....she's got more experience than the Obama / Biden ticket combined!

Why would he think he made a mistake? Her selection may well prove to be one of the most daring and brilliant moves in Presidential campaign history.
