I find it odd and rather disturbing that people--especially women--are willing to vote for a man who is violent towards women, is extremely volatile, and is incapable of entering into a mutually respectful dialogue with anyone who disagrees with him. This is a man who publicly humiliated an 18-year-old girl by calling her "ugly"; who is against Roe v. Wade; who makes rape jokes; who called his wife the c-word and a "trollope" in front of his colleagues; who bullied a female member of a group of Americans still waiting for their loved ones who might be POWs to come home from a war, and brought her to tears; who says F-you to anybody who disagrees with him; who regularly screams at people in the halls of Congress; who reached across the table during a diplomatic mission to South America and grabbed one of the participants by the collar and started yelling at him, etc. His running mate is, apparently, vindictive and hateful, as well, towards people who don't agree with her, according to various claims that have been subtantiated; she's willing to break federal law by sending aerial hunters out to shoot wolves and their cubs (despite the fact that every single wildlife expert in Alaska told her that this was an irresponsible and even dangerous form of predator control, since the productive elimination of predators depends on knowing the population of both prey and predator within a certain ecosystem, as well as other factors); she's "tested" the possibility of having books banned; etc.

Oddly enough, we've not heard claims of such behavior related to Obama. Because there aren't any. Here's a well-educated man, who--by all accounts--is emotionally stable; well-respected by his peers (in Congress and out); does not accost and scream at people; does not harbor violent tendencies towards women; and does not attempt to vindictively intimidate or punish anybody.

So, tell me, in what ways can dangerously volatile and hate-filled people serve our country?

The "joke" he told, if true and as I heard it was pretty bad. I don't think anyone would want their mothers, daughters, sisters or wives in the room while he was telling it. For me, it's a red flag/character issue.
As far as calling his wife the C word, it doesn't show much respect--if he said it the way it's been reported and in front of people, it would be esp.humiliating for her.

I personally am stunned that anyone...including women....would vote for this short tempered, foul mouthed man who has shown poor judgement and exhibited risky behavior over and over and over again. Add to those issues the fact that, in a fit of temper over not being allowed to chose the running mate he wanted, he had the poor judgement to chose someone who is a heartbeat away from the presidency who has absolutely nothing to recommend her for that position. Talk about risky behavior.

Well, I've said it in other threads. I'll said it again...since you asked. McCain was not my first pick for president, but I more or less, have to support him because to me, abortion trumps the other issues. As a woman, I like the fact he is against Roe vs. Wade. Women have rights as any other citizen, of course, and I would certainly defend them, but I don't think any of us have a "right" to terminate a life that's already begun even if it's in our own body.

Barack Obama, from everything I have heard, seems more extreme on the abortion issue that even the majority of other democrats. Therefore, I would never even consider voting for him.

He wasn't a few years ago. He was very much on the record as preserving a woman's right to choose.

But between McCain's Irish temper and Biden's foot in mouth disease ... yea, we have a couple of real winners.

His POW history colors his thoughts a little too much...He seems to love war... Not good...and I am truely insulted that he would just pick a lady to win my vote...Does he not give me the credit of wanting someone that could actually do the job? If anyone is putting lipstick on a pig...Palin is the lipstick for sure...and McSame is the pig...

Yes, and that's one of the primary reasons he wasn't my "first pick." I don't think his stance is strong enough against abortion, but certainly he's not where Obama is.
