Not fair at all, I agree, but that is the case, no way around it. Again, for the tenth time, I do not agree with it, both as a Republican myself and as an American, but that is the way it is.
You said "for the first time, ever, a black man has a shot of winning the presidency, something that we never thought would happen for another hundred years, and hey, someone has to run against him."

Is someone not supposed to run against him?? That's news to me. My brain is turned on. Basing on your last post about moving if Palin is president the only brain not turned on is yours!!!

I know someone has to run against him, and that's the way things are...and if that someone wins, because of the emotional investment blacks have made in their first hope of seeing something they never thought they would see in their lifetime, that someone will be unfairly resented by blacks for ever. I don't agree with it, and don't think it's fair, but that's just the way it is...If McCain had picked Powell as a running mate, who, BTW, has ten times the experience as Palin but without the fascist anti-American tendencies, he might have been able to cushion the blow, but what's done is done.

BTW, I can life with McCain in the white house...but Palin?... "Lord of the Rings" filming location, here I come!

If some black people get angry because Obama loses, they won't be alone. Many, many people will be angry. And not because a black man lost. But because the best man lost--due, in large part, to the lies of the Republicans, who couldn't fight fair if their dirty little lives depended on it, and who created a circus out of the democratic process as a way to divert attention from the issues and the fact that their positions are exactly the same as George W. Bush's. Even worse, in some areas, if that's imaginable. Lies, lies, and more lies. That's all you people know how to do. Obama the "socialist"! Obama the "Muslim"! Barack HUSSEIN Obama! Please. Any person--white or black, or brown-- with half a brain cell recognizes racism when they see it--however covered up it is with tactical and strategic lies.

But it must suck in a way being that guy.

Really...there have been 2 black elected governors in the history of the US, 3 blacks have been elected to the US Senate sense reconstruction. So now, all of a sudden, black people are elated to have the possibility of seeing it happen in their lifetimes. People are cheering, crying, hugging total strangers and wishing lost parents were alive to see this...and some one beats him. Hopes dashed, dreams gone. What do you think black people in America are going to do? They are going to have nothing but hatred and resentment for John McCain, even though he doesn't deserve it.

I think he probably knows it, but what can he do about it? I mean, he would be running against anyone the Democrats would send at him, and I don't think McCain is a racist...repeat for idiots who don't understand what I'm saying: I do not think McCain is a racist. He did not choose his opponent, put, like it or not, if he does win, 12% of the American population will always have a negative oppinion of him because he slayed their champion, sad but true. He didn't ask for this, did nothing to deserve this, but if he wins, he will forever be remembered by black America as their enemy...for that, he does have my sympathy.

I can guarantee you that he'll put as many blacks as he can find in his cabinet to try to soften the blow, and I can also guarantee you that it wouldn't do a dime's worth of good...

...and I can also guarantee you that Hillary, never being one to miss an oppurtunity, will choose either governor David Paterson David Paterson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or Congressman Artur Davis Artur Davis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to be her running mate, because she knows good and well that having another black person on the ballot would be the only way to get blacks to the polls again after that big a disapointment, and without the black voter turnout, the Democratic Party can't win.
[/u][/b]
You are basically stating that all blacks are racist, that they can't deal with a black candidate losing to a white man. If Obama wins, will 80% of Americans always have a negative opinion of him because he slayed their champion?

EDIT MAKE NECESSARY BY A COUPLE OF IDIOTS: I DO NOT THINK IT'S FAIR, AND I DO NOT SUPPORT MCCAIN BEING HATED BY BLACK PEOPLE. I AM JUST STATING THAT IT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN AND THAT IT IS UNFAIR. POINTING OUT THE EXISTINCE OF A IDEA/BEHAVIOR DOES NOT MEAN THAT ONE SUPPORTS THE IDEA/BEHAVIOR.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that fingers will be pointed at Hilary

“ Many Blacks and Obama supporters will blame Hillary. … Hillary supporters will say 'I told you so,'

Like I stated, there have been only three black elected senators, and two black elected governors ever. How many white presidents have there been? 43. There have been more white presidents then there have been black governors, senators and probably congress people combined.

Blacks see in Obama a chance to end racism once and for all...whites see in McCain just another white guy. Hence, black people have a different opinion of Obama than whites have of McCain.

And is it any coincidence that Obama is getting 97% of the black vote, while Kerry only got 77%?

This election is not about race in most peoples eyes MF, it is about individual candidates and the direction they want to take the country. You can try to pin it as race related as a dig against Republicans, and their "so-called" racist ways, but it is not the case at all.
It boils down to Obama not connecting a viable plan with his populist rhetoric.

I don't think it's racism as much as it is other factors...if a black man named "Isaac Wilson" from Missouri was running, he would be looked at as being more American than Barak Obama.

Also, while I understand that most Americans with a brain will be angry if McSame wins, you can't deny that blacks will be especially disapointed that Obama didn't win.

When did I say Republicans were racist? I just said that blacks will be disapointed and blame McCain for it which I said, repeatidly, in bold letters that I do not think is fair.

Don't kill the messenger.
