CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - McCain and Palin plan joint town halls in battleground states « - Blogs from CNN.com

It's sad that a) Mccain needs to use her "rock star" status (sound familiar??) in order to get people to attend his functions b) the Republicans are not allowing her to go out on her own and campaign in key states and c) people are so blinded by party affiliations that they are going to think is some wonderful campaign strategy instead of what it is. A ruse.

Will they be attached at the hip once in office? Will he be hiding behind the curtain or under the table (no sexual connotation meant ) during meetings? Is John going to be there with her at the VP debates? WTF is wrong with letting her campaign by herself?

I just read the article (link below) about Palin and how she hires unqualified cronies (her high school pals) for high-paid political appointments and fires and demeans those who she believes have crossed her or otherwise disagreed with her. All the mayors in the state complained how they cannot reach Palin because she spends 95% of her time in her home town rather than in the state capital, and she never returns any of their calls. They usually find out about her vetos or intiatives in the news media! Meanwhile her husband sits in on high level meetings and is part of the email distribution group. Eeeeek, she is literally frightening. She is so close to Bush in her philosophy against democracy. She is another dictator like Bush & Co.

I'm not sure which is worse - McCain not wanting Palin to venture out on her own, where she might get asked questions (we've seen how well that has gone so far) .... or McCain's handlers not wanting McCain to venture out on his own and talk to reporters, given his, ahem, failing memory.

She was out this weekend, alone at a couple of rallys.

Hot Air » Blog Archive » The management style of Palin, and her popularity

Quote:
Does it now? Did Wasilla High have only three students? The Times mentions three former classmates appointed by Palin to government positions when she took office as Governor. The article was written by that many reporters, who combined to offer this ridiculous piece of commentary in a news article.

The third, Franci Havemeister, gets ridiculed for her “love of cows” as a qualification for her position at the Director of Agriculture. What the Times fails to mention is that the “love of cows” was also accompanied by years in the 4-H program and work done in several sectors of agriculture, as a quick Google search finds:

Franci and her husband, Bob, have four children and are lifetime Alaskans. She has spent her life actively involved in agriculture from the 4-H program to varied agriculture sectors including dairy, potato, vegetable and greenhouse production.

And how has Havemeister performed as Director? The Times doesn’t report any complaints. If she’s that bad of a choice, how can Havemeister have succeeded?
Reformers usually clean house, and that’s what Palin did. Rather than worry about resumes, why not focus on the successes and failures of her appointments? Neither paper does that, which tends to indicate that they couldn’t find any of the latter.

Please, she didn't interact with voters and read the same old tired speech she gave at the convention with a teleprompter.

If the Republicans have a good thing going, why change horses in mid-stream? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've not heard or read of the Republicans whining/crying/complaining because they are campaigning together. Too bad the naysayers are all wrong, all on the wrong side. Has Biden quit yet, given up the ghost, hired Whoopi for a speech writer?

There will be rallys, pressers and more interviews. I'm sure you will be getting all you can stomach of Palin in the coming weeks.

Being involved in 4-H is...I'm at a loss for words. I was in 4-H for years and grew up on a farm. I wouldn't consider myself to be qualified to run an agr department.

If 1/3 of the NYT article is true then I'm struck by two things: 1) Todd Palin is way too involved. 2) She's George Jr when it comes to cronyism. Even if all her friends were qualified that doesn't discount that they were her friends.

Rallys are not town halls. She gives the same speech she has been giving since day one and then leaves. How are you comparing the two? Seriously?
