Chris Dodd said today he could not convey what exactly was discussed in the meeting last night but what was told to them, the room went silent and then a gasp.

My friends at www.headonradionetwork.com told me for over a year do not buy a house and I did and now I have lost loads of equity. They told me to take my money out of my retirement account and and I did not listen to them and now I have lost money.

This has been known for a long time.

If only I would have listened...but my head was in the sand of denial.

Must have been a pretty scary meeting for Republicans and Democrats to not come out of it with attempts to score political points. Nothing like a sphincter tightening dose of reality to get folks heads out of their... well sphincter.

Dodd and the Democrats should not do a thing to bail the Republicans out of this mess. Let them wallow in it until election day.

This started with Clinton and the CRA. The Bush admin waved the red flag on fannie/freddie in 2003 and tried to do something but the dems blocked it and here we are now. Look it up...

There's 1000's of derivatives out there, housing is just one piece of a pie.

Disowned by the Ownership Society
Remember the "ownership society," fixture of major George W. Bush addresses for the first four years of his presidency? "We're creating...an ownership society in this country, where more Americans than ever will be able to open up their door where they live and say, welcome to my house, welcome to my piece of property," Bush said in October 2004.

Did you research before you posted. Do you remember?
Fact Sheet: America's Ownership Society: Expanding Opportunities

This is directly from the White House in 2004 and now you want to pretend they never proclaimed the great ownership society. Readers please peruse he White House plan in 2004 and compare it with the mess today and then listen to lies trying to blame it on Democrats when it is clear it is a failed Bush blueprint.

Where has the Bush administration and the Republican Congress been for the past 5 years? Get your head out of the sand: your country's on the line.
