Now I find it interesting that 60,000 people were able to fit into this small little town seen here: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://pics2.city-data.com/picthumbc/thumbc14196.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.city-data.com/city/The-Villages-Florida.html&h=140&w=140&sz=4&hl=en&start=23&um=1& usg=__2h3632JtKAoRlPoP5Tyn1oVY2GE=&tbnid=8VL927z0_ RlMZM:&tbnh=93&tbnw=93&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2522The%2BVillages%2522%2Btown%2Bsqu are%2Borlando,fl%26start%3D21%26ndsp%3D21%26um%3D1 %26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-USfficial%26sa%3DN

Brilliant.

See above.
PLEASE! Palin is a freakin dope!!! "I can see Russia from my house". Good grief! Pretty soon she will be telling the American people that her days in the Miss America Pageant have prepared her for her role as VP. Believe me, there are many, many smart women that will not fall for her line of crap.

Scarlet, that's from 2000. I'm sure the population has doubled. Still 60,000 is a bit of a stretch! The Villages is a planned community and is about 98% White, not exactly representative of Florida or any diversified area.

The attendance numbers from the McCain camp have been in question for a while. I watched the RNC and saw a lot of empty seats.

Well, they were likely estimating. Like they did before Iraq: 6 months, a few million dollars. It's really hard to find a good count of the number of people that showed up. Given it's a retirement community in Florida and a Sunday, I'd say there were probably between 20 and 30k people there in and about the square. I don't believe in my wildest nightmares that 60k people showed up to see McPalin take no questions and repeat her RNC speech all over again.

Counter what? Pics of the town of The villages. Let's see...the have over 100,000 population I believe, so what you're saying is those pics of a variety of different shots of the city...shows what exactly?

Surely, surely a town of the size would be able to host a rally of 60,000 easily, yes? Kinda like a park in Portland could host 75,000, right?

Anyway, if you have a beef with the number count, call the fire chief.

There was much more to that answer than what ABC showed. They edited her answer horribly. Do yourself a favor and go look on their site - the transcripts there.

It's a gated community of 75000 people. Your article says that. It also says the fire chief estimated the number. Don't you read what you post or just the headlines on Drudge?

I do believe estimates can be wrong. Ask Farrakhan about his million man march estimates.
