The debate can't wait five days for them to get this solved.

On the hill the parties are saying this thing is dead in the water right now. There are not enough votes.

Reid wanted McCain to declare he would vote for it before he committed the dems to a vote.

He's looking for leadership...from McCain.

McCain is posturing. It's blatantly obvious.

The best part is: now people will be excited about watching the debates! Thanks for the publicity, Johnny.

Considering the results of how Congress handles this economic crisis will likely have a large effect on the next president, I think it would be best to handle the crisis immediately. Debate next week.

The debates are going to be useless anyway. Both of them will say dumb **** that the other will try to pounce on and whine about until Nov 4.

Do people really think passing some sort of magical wand will cure the economic crisis? It's going to take a few years at the minimum to solve this quagmire.

I'm surprised he didn't use this tactic to delay the VP debate. Maybe he has something else cooked up.

There'll be a heightened sense of fear over terror due to a sudden unexplained occurence. Just watch.

Bravo Barack Obama!!! And thank you for putting the American people first by maintaining your commitment to open, televised, public debates as scheduled as opposed to the backroom hand ringing and political posturing John McCain is attempting pull over on all of us.
