2. You obvious don't understand melanoma. There are different kinds of melanoma. McCain had malignant melanoma, the most deadly kind. Does that mean everyone dies from it? No. A lot of people do, because usually by the time it is detected it is already stage IV and has spread to other organs and then it's too late. McCain was fortunate that his was cause and was only a stage II, which means it had spread beyond the initial lesion, but not more than 1.5 mm into the skin. So they caught it and removed it. It's gone. Yes, it could recur but now he is being watched so if there are any more lesions, they can be removed before they spread.
