No doubt he is going to give Mccain an undeserved stroke for this one. How convenient that last night after convening for the night the House Repubs are screaming (no negotiating) and it takes 15 minutes this morning for them to turn around and all of a sudden be on board.
Now while I am not for either candidate I am also not for people f*****g with us. Both Obama and Mccain have done it all campaign and if this gets spun to be either of their doing I will vomit. Mccain said nothing and Obama did nothing.
Socialism has officially begun. I guess this means Obama is the perfect President now with his Socialist/Marxist beliefs!

I have no idea where your last sentance came from, but I agree that neither candidate should take or accept credit. McCain in my mind is more likey to pursue it, seeing as he suspended his campaign just to sit in his washington office and twiddle his thumbs.

Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society.
The government is taking over the entities that will be bailed out and if they begin backing the mortgages that people are taking out and "owning" those homes, that will be government controlled business and housing. A direct step towards socialism and according to many posters, that is Obama's "strong suit"

I don't like the situation either, but I don't know of what to do besides a bail-out. It's not ideal, but it's a solution and it might just stabalize the market, and it depends what you want more. A great depression, or a governmental interest in the markets. Neither if ideal, but I'd prefer the latter if I don't have another option.

I have the inside scoop....I am actually "W" himself
I am actually assuming that is what the conference will be about as there is pretty much nothing else it could be about. If he tells us what we already know then he is a fool (sorry bigger fool) and if he decides to "update" us yet there is no conclusion then he is just being a reporter. Just a hunch
Well it takes the whole team to make the final call but yes you are right. It doesn't matter who is doing it though. The result is still the same. A Socialist concept in a Democratic country. A base that calls Obama a Socialist yet agrees, in principle to a HUGE socialist bill.
Both Mccain and Obama have said they are against the bailout but call it necessary. Why not stand up against Bush and look for another conclusion. If this is really the ONLY thing to do.....then how can you be "against" it. Maybe not happy about it but those are two different things.

I think the plan is to own them for only a short time and then sell them. I just hope that they pay pennies on the dollar and don't get hoodwinked by these financial institutions. buy low, SELL HIGH!

How quickly do you honestly think they will be able to sell them in a buyer's market at a profit?
