Can we all agree that Bush saved obama's little acorns when he "invited" him to DC yesterday?
How would it have looked for Obama to be down in Fl signing posters when the rest of the power brokers and actual leaders were on the Hill trying to save the economy? Inconsequential and small, that's what he would have looked like
He got very lucky - but as it is, obama has been following in Mac's wake.
Bush save McCain's butt by calling the meeting; otherwise, McCain would have been in DC with nothing to do. That's the advantage of being so tight with the incumbent - he can bail your a$$ out.

This would only be true of something got passed and McCain was present, Obama was not. At this point, it was inconsequential, if not destructive, that the 2 candidates attended.
It's obvious that a lot of people don't understand the process that is used when the Federal government wants to spend money. Let me know when you figure it out. Hint, it starts with the House of Representatives.
Both Obama and Mac are the leaders of their parties. They should be there to face the worse crisis since WWII.

Also consider that running for President is serious business and both candidates must be ready to react at a moments notice. The stress involved with such pressure is great but if these two men couldn’t handle it they wouldn’t be running for President of the United States.
Traditional wisdom would suggest that the Democratic candidate’s debate preparation has been compromised by the events of the last two days. That is no doubt true, but if he doesn’t know where he stands on the issues by this time that excuse will fall on def ears.
