Any good attorney, or scientist for that matter when in a discussion makes notes. You are writing down what you find pertinent. You may use them for future reference, but you are also using them to organize your rebuttal. Debate 101.

Remember he is a trained attorney. Do you think an attorney doesn't take notes during a deposition? A good attorney does not rely solely on the court reporter.

No. I think he took notes in order to stage a proper rebuttal and counter, and to correct statements regarding his positions. He did this exceptionally well, and refused to allow Senator McCain to establish his position for him, instead aggressively righting any comment meant to change or alter perceptions of his agenda or policy positions.

The OP is kidding aren't they? You take notes in a debate to come back to and use against your opponent! See Obama is a lawyer and lawyers take notes when the other side is presenting. Most people learn that in high school. Amazing what you can learn at Harvard Law.

Wrong, Obama is a student, McCain is the teacher. Obama is so confused, he would fail a foreign policy test. Then again he might copy Biden's work, i'm sure he got them all right. After all, Biden is the master of copying

If McCain dropped his pencil would he be able to manipulate his arms enough to pick it up? Would he have asked Obama to get if for him? Hmmm maybe that would be a good poll thread to follow this one.

You're even worse of a partisan hack than Hannity or Coulter.
