I thought both candidates did all right, the pundits were somewhat split but as David Gergen said, "McCain needed a clear victory tonight and I think that eluded him." In fact looking at these polls, Obama gets the nod.
CBS Insta Poll shows Barack Obama won 39% to John McCain's 25% with 36% saying the debate was a draw.
Insider Advantage reports those polled Obama won 42% to McCain's 41% with Undecided 17%
Who cares? I don't need a poll to tell me what I saw last night.
Obama was a stumbling, bumbling fool on FP/NS. He was on the defensive constantly.
Please, even dick moriss, frunk lunz's focus group on fox, charles krauthemmer(sp?) all gave the win to Obama. I am not surprised you think Obama did horrible because you even think palin has done exceptionally well in all her interviews so far.

I would not call it a knock out for either candidate. Obama did what he had to do and looked in command of the issues and didn't stumble over words like he has done in the past. McCain talked like an "in charge" guy and, while looking a little grumpy, did not come off as overly angry which he often does. Keeping score, a slight edge to Obama.

Yeah, I noticed Krauthammer gave the edge to Obama, rather surprising since he's normally just another Faux News Republican shill.
The results may be favoring Obama simply because more Democrats than Republicans tuned in to the debate. Of the debate-watchers questioned in this poll, 41 percent of the respondents identified themselves as Democrats, 27 percent as Republicans and 30 percent as independents.
The best estimate of the number of Democrats in the voting age population as a whole indicates that the sample is roughly 5 to 7 percentage points more Democratic than the population as a whole.
Do we see how they can manipulate the numbers to get the result they desire?
