"Tracking Poll Update: Obama Crosses the 50 Percent Threshold
by Jonathan Singer, Sat Oct 04, 2008 at 01:33:55 PM EST
Here are today's numbers:
Obama McCain
Diageo/Hotline Obama 48 McCain: 41 (McCain -1 since yesterday)
Gallup Obama 50 McCain: 42 (Obama +1 since yesterday)
Rasmussen Reports Obama 51 McCain: 45 (Obama +1 since yesterday)
Research 2000/dKos Obama 52 McCain: 40 (Obama +1 since yesterday)
Average: 50.25 42.00
Note that this is the first time since the four tracking polls have been watching the race that Barack Obama has topped 50 percent in his four-poll average. Ought to quiet those pundits asking (and I have seriously heard this in the past couple of days) why Obama hasn't topped the 50 percent threshold.
Note, too, that in the single-day sample of 359 likely voters from R2K (MoE +/- 5%), which occurred in the day after the Vice Presidential debate, John McCain actually slipped below the 40 percent marker, coming in with an unimpressive 39 percent showing. The movement from the previous day when McCain was at 40 percent was not significant. Nevertheless, it cannot be very encouraging to Republicans to be polling in the 30s exactly one month out from election day.

Lets wait to see how this pans out. I dont like polls, never have. Even when McCain was up, I still bashed the conservatives on here who kept posting them....I just dont like them. There are WAY TOO MANY dynamics in this particular race that a poll cannot possibly gauge.
Remember in January when America OVERWHELMINGLY backed Giuliani/Romney and Clinton for the nominees? They predicted Giuliani and Romney would "be fighting for every last vote"....and the Republican primaries weren't even comeptitive. And we all know how Clinton's situation played out. I just dont like polls. They aren't right most of the time. Kerry was suppose to win by 1% last election and Gore was suppose to win by 3% in 2000. Historically, the person who doesnt have the lead is the winner, so if McCain leads on November 3rd, I will be concerned .
Palin is only making it worse for McCain with the rediculous speech which talks about so called terrost connections with Obama. McCain is just grasping for straws. Its pathetic.
Oh well. The only poll that matters is November 4th and that poll won't be of selected individuals, it will include the people who don't get polled for all these polls that are supposed to tell us how everyone is going to vote.
I wonder if a lot of McCain supporters are saying they are voting for Obama just to throw the pollsters off and lull the Dems into a false sense of security? If I am polled, I'm gonna say I'm voting for Obama!

Which brings us to another poll. Will the Moonbats riot when their god loses next month?
