1. Would you vote for a qualified man (or woman) of color (i.e. visibly non-white) for president, if he/she agreed with you ideologically on all or nearly all issues.

2. If not, why not.

Be honest with your answer, tell us how you really feel. I live in the south and see a lot of segregation and racist talk even in the urban areas, and conservative = white power down here, to some extent.

I am not from the South, but am a conservative. Skin color makes no difference to me as long as the person I am voting for is conservative in more issues than not. I am voting for McCain, because he is more conservative than Obama, and mostly because Palin is the real conservative in the ticket.

Absolutely! I would vote for Collin Powell, Condi Rice and a few others. Obama does not scare me because of his race, not at all. He scares me due to his past associations with numerous radicals and criminals and promises he is making to the American people that he will never be able to keep. He scares me due to his thoughts on foreign policy, primarily the middle east. I also find him to be nothing more then a coached empty suit. He is polished over, advised and of no real substence of his own.

I am truly sorry you democrats did not pick Hillary. I would have given her a second look. Obama? There is just no way folks.

OK, still waiting for others like Sanrene and the like .... but I'll ask some follow-ups,

Would a Barack Hussein Obama, or someone with a potentially sketchy (for lack of a better word) background/given name still be troublesome to you if he were the Republican nominee?
Or is the right-wing dirt throwing regarding religious affiliation mainly because he's a Democrat?
Would these issues be considered by you to be trivial, if he supported your platform?

I would have serious doubts about anyone with a potentially sketchy background; Republican, Democrat, or Independent. This has nothing to do with the fact that he is a Democrat. It has everything to do with me fearing a leader with potential terrorist ties.

I would have a problem with ANY corrupt politician. Look at Ted Stevens, Ive been screaming that guy was on the take for years! I can name a number of Republicans I would like to see go. Crooks and liars comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. An R next to their name does not make the exempt in my book. No way, no how!

Obama being black is NOT an issue with me at all. I know many won't believe that, but it is the truth.
