I get that the economy is in the crapper, and of course, that needs to be a major focus, but I want to hear about abortion, national security, gun control, immigration and some key issues on which the candidates have very different opinions. Your thoughts?

I would too, but you can read about these issues on their websites.

The environment and Clean energy is a big one of mine. Clearly that Obama would be 100 times better. Also, city redevelopment which would also be Obama.

I want to hear who they would put in key government positions, who would be in their cabinet and why. That might shed more light on their plans --- god knows those two couldn't be more vague during debates.

I would like to know which one of them will shrink government. The answer is neither, but Obama would like to increase the size of government beyond its already unbearably large scope.

Both of these clowns need to be flushed down the crapper where they belong and real candidates allowed to participate.

Let's hope 4 years from now that will be an option.

I realize that, but there is something about hearing the candidates articulate their ideas and passionate support them really appeals to me on a very different level than just checking out the websites.
As for city re-development, don't count on Obama for that. He failed miserably as a community organizer. I work in the area of the southside where he worked and his good friend Tony Rezko is a slum lord, Obama just borrowed the Community Organizer title from ACORN. He's an opportunist, he takes whatever suits his purpose and cause for as long as it does. When it/they no longer benefit him, they are dropped like a "hot potato" or a hot Jeremiah Wright, hot Father Micahel Pfleger, hot Ayers, hot ACORN....it's the Obama way.

While I'd like to hear new issues addressed myself, two that they won't touch are abortion and immigration. I don't see it happening on those two.

Well, they agree on immigration so there is no point in debating that...

They have the same stand on immigration, mainly amnesty for those already here illegally. Who knows what they would do for those who cross over afterwards? Probably give them a welcome package. Oh yeah....we already do that, courtesy of our tax dollars....that and bail out Wall street scumbags. Wow.

IMO, if you don't get the economy under control you won't have to worry about any of those other issues.
