This is such a misrepresentation of the facts that Palin's only going to look like an even worse fool and liar, sooner - I predict Wednesday.
Cant believe the campaign is letting her try this. They must all be busy mailing out their resumes.
(Not that any Palinites will look, but: Fight the Smears: Reckless accusations of infanticide (http://fightthesmears.com/articles/15/wildaccusations - broken link))
How is this a misrepresentation of the facts? She spoke of protecting unborn children and she spoke correctly about what Obama said, "I don't want my daughters punished with a baby." He said more like he would teach them morals but if they were to make mistakes, he didn't want them punished with a baby. There is nothing false about that video.

These are nice words she's saying, but the reality as enacted in federal legislation is very different.
Obama (infamously) defended your right to privacy because it's been decided to exist within the federal Constitution. Palin translates that for you as "unlimited support for unlimited abortions."
No matter what nice things Palin says about her little boy and protecting innocent life, removing your right to privacy from the Constitution does not remove the viability (as it were) of abortions being performed in the states that so choose to permit it. McCain and Palin are running on a platform that simply shuffles responsibility away from the US and onto the states; abortions will still be performed in America under a McCain presidency, perhaps some even in medical settings, once the various states hammer out the details election after election depending on what mood prevails. Palin knows this, even while she implies that a vote for McCain means that all babies will be wanted, no abortions will happen.
Meanwhile, your constitutionally-protected right to privacy, which includes your right to buy contraceptives and your right to do what you want in your own home, will be gone.
In the interest of being fair and balanced I have to say I didnt watch the video before my first post - I went by "Born Alive" in Sanrene's thread title and was misled (naturally, should've known). I guessed Palin was going to be talking about the "born alive" business, so gave a quick link to the "Fight the Smears" page on that. But I guess she's either saving that for later or doesnt dare bring it up, since it'll be so easily shot down. And in fact since she's brought the topic up, now the Obama camp can clarify his position and point out the practical problems with hers and McCain's.
Yup- and it'll serve to further excite the base that they already have, and do nothing to sway anyone else. When are you going to realize that there's a huge portion of the population that's pro-choice, and you're not going to get them wound up talking about this. The live-births/partial-births are such a miniscule portion of the abortions done in this country, and you guys make it sound like it happens every time an abortion is performed.
Palin can talk about this until she's blue in the face and it won't do a damned thing to help their cause. Of course, in the meantime, Obama will just talk about the issues that most people actually care about (like the economy.....), and continue to expand his lead. Great strategy your crew has there.....
I watched a more full version of this speech and it is the absolute best speech I've heard Palin do. It was tremendous, and just makes me believe in the McCain ticket even more.
Just say yes to John & Sarah and say no to abortion!

You notice they don't even let her take staged questions like McCain does at his rallies. McCain's people are like "just read the script you idiot!" Here's how it would go if they did:
Staged Crowd Memeber: Uh, Uh, I don't think Bama can be trusted because he's not from America
Sarah: You're right, he was born in our neighboring country of Hawaii, that's not America folks..You betcha, Im gon check it out and get back tuya.
