So it took Joe Plumber for people to recognize that Obama is a Socialist?

Still, you Obama-bashers are an untrustworthy lot. You need to provide some sort of link so that everyone else knows what the heck you're talking about.

What would you think of a post like this:

"Did you see what McCain did today????? What a DOLT!!!!!! He's gonna lose fer sure now!!!"

Pretty idiotic. So's this thread.

Hmmm...switch to decaf...

Who's Dennis Prager? Another (unlicensed) plumber?

hahahaha

The American Dream is only working for the top 20% of U.S. households (ranked by household income), anyway.

Most planks of the Communist Manifesto have already been implemented to a degree: welfare, socialized education, make-work programs, etc. Obama is clearly more overtly socialist, but so was "centrist" McCain. Even Bush, supposedly the right-wing devil from hell, had substantial increases of government spending and power while his party was in control of the legislative branch as well as executive.

In other words, both major parties (or one big party, depending on how you look at it) "spread the wealth" as much as they can get away with, which is still a bit less than in most of Europe. I've learned that making the moral argument against taxation and government power will win you very few friends, but there's also the pragmatic argument: you cannot redistribute the wealth if it escapes from you, and it will as the world becomes more inter-connected and mobile. Pretty soon you'd either have to accept limitations to government power, which grow as individuals become more educated and empowered to act voluntarily, or end up like North Korea: backward and isolated.
