The Chicago Tribune has never endorsed a Democratic candidate for president in it's entire history, dating back before the Civil War.

Until today.

CHICAGO TRIBUNE ENDORSEMENT: Chicago Tribune endorses Barack Obama for president -- chicagotribune.com

Excerpts:

On Nov. 4 we're going to elect a president to lead us through a perilous time and restore in us a common sense of national purpose.

The strongest candidate to do that is Sen. Barack Obama. The Tribune is proud to endorse him today for president of the United States.

<snip>

We have known Obama since he entered politics a dozen years ago. We have watched him, worked with him, argued with him as he rose from an effective state senator to an inspiring U.S. senator to the Democratic Party's nominee for president.

We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions. He is ready.

Chicago breaking news, Chicago sports, Chicago weather and traffic, business, jobs -- chicagotribune.com

NEWSPAPERS are supposed to balanced and fair but it looks like NO MEDIA is balanced and fair in the USA anymore.

And this means that the USA is on its way to falling at the bottom.

THIS WHOLE OBAMA THING REMINDS ME OF being in a country run by a dictator where the dictator has bought the media and everybody!!!

I am waiting for my handout from Obama!!!

Default Chicago Tribune Endorses Obama

First time in their 161 history they have endorsed a Democrat for president. I'm sure Col. McCormick is rolling over in his grave

It's the first time the paper has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president. But the editorial board declares Obama the right man "to lead us through a perilous time and restore in us a common sense of national purpose."
