Actually I kind of think of Obama as the rehab will all need from the last 7 years of post 9/11 adrenaline we have been pumped up on. I see some sanity in the idea that we have to actually pay for wars if we want to pursue them, that making sure our own kids have books and safe buildings for school is as good a thing as making sure that happens in countries we are occupying. I don't know, I think the Bush KoolAid withdrawl plan might be painful, but it will be ok in the end if we follow the twelve steps to remove ourselves from our addiction to spending, wars, and watching our country crumble around us.

Quit being dramatic. This country has been in much worse shape, just maybe not in your lifetime. The economy runs in cycles, always has and always will.

Our current economic situation had been building for much longer than 8 years and both parties are at fault. At least try to be realistic before calling others arrogant.

WHere did I ever say I was a Repub? I'm an Independent, or was that point slightly above your head when I said I was voting 3rd party? BTW, BOTH sides are to blame for this mess...Yes Dems TOO!!! Which is why I'm done with the two party gridlock nonsense. There's definately enough blame to go around for everyone. Dems are hardly pure as the driven snow. You'll find when we start untangling this mess, that they have much more blood on their hands than originally reported. Enjoy your kool-aid.

Looks like the Republicans are going to be in a time out for at least the next 2 years. I'm not normally for total control by either party, but in this case, I'm all for the Dems having it. They'll need it to start undoing this mess!

Oh, goody, I feel so much better that we aren't in the midst of WWII, the Great Depression, the Panic of 1893, '73, or '57. And, gosh golly willikers thank god this ain't the Civil War!

I think I'll go and put my head back in the sand.

Colin Powell is one of the few Republicans who, when he opens his mouth, B/S doesn't come out. Of course the Republican cry of Socialist will be heard. It's the only word they know and use it for everything, thinking it will scare the Cr*p out of everyone. It's getting old now.

what is hurting this country is people not being able to tell the difference between the democratic congress and the republican congress. for the record, the last 2 years (where nothing of significance was accomplished except the incredibly bad bailout bill) were run by the democratic congress.

Yes, two years following what,...10 years of a republican controlled congress?
