The family of one of two suspects accused of plotting to kills dozens of African Americans including presidential candidate Barack Obama said Tuesday they doubted the plot was serious.
Daniel Cowart, of Bells, Tennessee, and Paul Schlesselman, of West Helena, Arkansas, were arrested last week.
I wonder if the parents of the Columbine tragedy would have said the same thing, had their children been apprehended before carrying out their tragic plans.

Hmmmm...I posted this right after it was reported and it was deleted. Very interesting. Anyway, I cannot believe some parents! I guess these kids were never taught that they are responsible for the outcomes of their actions.
"Early last Wednesday, agents said the suspects shot out a window at a Brownsville church and later, wrote hate symbols on Cowart's vehicle, including a swastika and the numbers 14 and 88."
"A rifle, sawed-off shotgun and three pistols were seized from the men."
95 times out 100, parents and family will always react with shocked denial that their dear kids could ever be involved in anything bad. and whether they were actually serious or not, law enforcement would be insane not to react as if they were indeed serious.

Isn't this more of the same rhetoric we always hear after mass shootings, school shootings, or the wife killing her pastor husband, and a hundred other such scenarios? We always hear the "he/she was such a NICE person, quiet, kept to himself/herself, or he/she was such a good father/mother, etc. None of us can believe it, that he/she could do such a thing", and on and on. As far as I'm concerned, people that premeditate violence on ANYONE need to be stopped head-on.

Bottom line is anything like this has to be taken seriously, it doesn't matter who the candidate is, immediate action has to be taken. And I'm glad they were caught regardless of what they might or might have not done.
