I saw a piece on this earlier today. Man these folks are just having a tough time of it. How their memories fade or are selectively operated.

It's incredible, isn't it? Let's see what kind of spin they put on this one. My bet is that, as usual, they will simply ignore it, the way they ignore all inconvenient truths.

I certainly don't expect much response from McCain supporters but I think this kind of a thing is a sign of a bigger issue. A failing and flailing campaign that is like a ship in a storm without a rudder. They had tough odds to face no matter who the McCain campaign ran against, but at this point it seems as though they are almost running against themselves as much as anything.

I'm waiting to see if there is another new talking point this week to which we can all go back to see when it was that they too were guilty of said action, whatever that may be.

It's interesting to watch though. I really thought the polls would be worse for the Republicans than they are given the past 7.5 years. I can't believe there are so many people who are willing to lie to themselves about where the party has gone.

Default Alaska's unique terrain.

"The royalty dollars that flow through the state are the people's wealth," said Parnell. "The $1,200 resource rebate goes to that philosophy."

In addition to the $1,200 payments, the Legislature also approved Palin's proposal to suspend the state's 8-cents-a-gallon gasoline tax for a year.

Past dividend payments ranged from $331 to $1,963 in 2000. Last year's payout was $1,654. People must live in Alaska one calendar year to qualify. For residents in Alaska's rural communities, the money can't arrive at a more crucial time.

"When it gets real cold in winter, it can take five gallons of fuel for heating overnight," said Wanda Sue Page, who lives in the Arctic village of Noatak, where residents pay more than $9 a gallon for gasoline and nearly $10 a gallon for heating oil.

Sam Shields, who lives in the Kuskokwim River town of Bethel, said the state money is desperately needed in his community, where he recently saw a whole chicken selling for $23 at the local grocery store.

So now removing taxes and giving money out equally no matter what your income is now socialism? That's some radical projecting.

The Peoples' wealth...how rich is that Stalinist talk?

Too f'n bad if it's cold and not hospitable. Move away if they can't afford it on private funds. No one put a gun to their head and ordered them to live in Alaska.

It's an incentive to live there. You don't see the circle there? The money turns right back around and gets fed back into the oil companies. In fact it basically just allows them fuel to stay warm with since it's being drilled for in their state. It's hard to say anyone there is making money on it. The terrain itself is no very friendly to trade. Imagine what it cost in fuel for trucks to bring food and supplies there.

Give it up people. You can't compare this desparate attempt to find more dirt on Palin to socialism. Why don't you just admit your candidate is a socialist? Is that so bad? No, you can't ... now we have to say everyone is a socialist. If you're going to support your candidate's ideology, you might as well admit it first.

They are drilling on Alaskan land, and Palin rightly believes the citizens should share in that. That is not socialism... She is not instituting an across the board tax on already taxed small businesses, she is not thwarting the incentive to create new jobs, quite the opposite. Her state is doing well.
