This election WILL be transformational...

Just like in 1980 when Ronald Reagan was elected and once more gave Americans pride in being American and hoping for a better future. Unfortunately, he also brought with him the transformation to a trickle-down style of economics, tax breaks slanted towards the wealthy, a union-busting philosophy, a blanket government-is-the-problem mentality, and sowed the seeds for the Neocon revolution that Dubya ushered in...

Obama will be just as transformational. First, it will mark the end of 28 consecutive years of conservative rule... Second - it will usher in an embracing of the political process by blacks, hispanics and other minorities that have felt discouraged to participate in the past. Thirdly - it will restore the notion that we are our brother's keeper - and that government should not exist to server only the rich and powerful, but to also protect and raise up and strengthen the weakest and most downtrodden amongst us...

I agree...and I think after a first Obama term we could see a lopsided electoral landslide for the democrats similar to the big Reagan landslide of 1984.

I agree completely...

November 4th, 2008 marks the end of the Reagan-era, and the beginning of the Obama-era.... I for one will be ecstatic for the change... and it will probably last for a generation or more.

It will usher in a 21st century New Deal for working Americans...

It will bring us together as Americans - not hyphenated Americans...

It will restore our prestige around the world...

It will see tremendous economic growth as the American spirit is once more inspired to achieve...

The days of trickle-down-econimics is dead and buried as of next Tuesday... - thank God!!!

The days of the Neocons is dead and buried as of next Tuesday - thank God twice!!!

Thank God for that. We buried Reagan. Hopefully now we can bury Reaganism too.

Please, don't insult the memory of Ronald Reagan by comparing him with that degenerate obama. In no way could obama EVER be worthy to walk in Reagan's shoes. And, before you start shouting racism, as all you obamabots do, it has nothing to do with that. However, if you want to talk racism, I'll say your post smacks of it. I guess in your world, total anarchy, complete disrespect for life and for those who don't look or talk like you and a decimated economy are a good thing. Additionally, if those "weak and downtrodden" folks you speak of would get off the couch and get a job, instead of blaming their problems on everyone else, they wouldn't need or want the government to run their lives. Too bad they're too brainwashed to realize the government running their lives will only serve to make them weaker and more downtrodden. Ever hear of personal responsibility?

You're right - I should not compare Obama to Reagan - that is insulting to Obama....

Get off your high horse for a moment and stop with the 'get a job' stupid knee-jerk reaction that snobs have when you talk about the disadvantaged...

The Reagan Era has culminated in a wrecked economy - just look around you - are you incapable of seeing the economic mess that the borrow-and-spend Reaganites and deregulators have finally wrought upon us???

And I did not say one single thing about racism - YOU DID!!!

Why don't you think before you write next time!!!

Yes, he will be worse for this country than reagan could ever have been. That much is correct.
