For Bush, there are too many to count. So many times he was on the world stage and I cringed, thinking that the entire world must think we ALL are dolts (only some of this country, not all of us)
My most cringe worthy moment of Pres. Bush was when he tried to give German PM Angela Merkel a "massage" at breakfast when walking by her one morning, like she was his daughter or something. She threw her shoulders up in defense. Later in a speech he started babbling about "eating that pig", repeatedly, in reference to a BBQ planned later that evening. This was in response to a question about the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
For Cheney, it was him showing up to a very somber ceremony at Auschwitz, everyone dressed smartly in black, all the European heads of state there (along with the Pope) and there is Cheney, showing utter contempt, in a parka, with a knit cap, and wearing boots. Looked like he was at a Packer game.
I'm so sick of these people.
There were so MANY horrible moments but the Merkel thing left me speechless!
It goes to show how much repub men hold women in contempt...treat them like animals.
....how DARE he lay a hand on her without her permission?
Why didn't the pig give all the men in the room a neck rub???
It's a tough question to answer - there were so many good candidate episodes...
For me the most embarrassing was shortly after 9/11 and on national tv he went into the 'Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice...................... Nobody likes to be fooled by a fooler'.... fiasco..
My God - he can't even get a simple 2 liner right.. At that moment I was convinced we were in for real serious problems with this guy.. I actually felt sorry for him when he said it - he MUST have been embarrased.
For the most stupid thing he said - it was during a press conference, and the war was going very badly - a reporter asked how people could show their support for the troops and share in the sacrifice - and his response was 'GO SHOPPING'.. I was absolutely shocked and angered - what a callous way to absolutely trivialize the carnage and suffering our troops were enduring...
