Gitmo will NOT be closed in the first week of the new Administration.

An Executive Order to start closing may be issued during the first week - but it will take some time - even years, to "close" the detention center

This is true. There is a lot of work to be done.

Still, this is a very positive step. Beyond the torture and other questionable behavior, it's a travesty that so many people have been held there without even having charges brought against them.

He said Sunday on ABC he would close it but that it would take time...He said nothing about doing it the first week in office.
He also wants those that are willing to take at lease two prisoners in to their home to call him. I see by reading here that he will have no problem placing them.
