I wonder why instead of discussing Geithner's crimes, this thread is turning into "But did you see what someone else did?"

Actually, I don't wonder why. All of the political threads on CD are going this way. If you aren't blindly following the new Fuhrer, then you are insulted, shouted down or both.

Adults don't go into the kiddie forums and rant about Spongebob vs Squidward... why can't these children stay out of the adult pool?

OK. Neither Joe the Plumber nor Geitner should be treasurer. Those two are out. Can we find anyone qualified that hasn't cheated on their taxes?

Probably not. Besides, if there was one that hadn't cheated on his taxes, he wouldn't be chosen.

What is with the sense of hero worshipping in this administration? ONLY Obama could transcend traditional politics. ONLY Geithner can fix this.

Wasn't Geither part of this problem? He worked for the Fed Reserve whose job it is to make sure the Banks have enough capital to cover their loans. Something that went horribly wrong with the securitized mortgages.

Timothy F. Geithner, President of the New York Fed - Organization - About the Fed - Federal Reserve Bank of New York (http://www.ny.frb.org/aboutthefed/orgchart/geithner.html - broken link)

Looking at this website about the Fed Reserve Bank, it appears that he failed to do its job properly. So again, why then is he the ONLY person qualified for the job?

In a few years, this will be one of those [MOD CUT] were they thinking moments? Ridiculous.

Yes, but now he's the Treasury Secretary and not working for the Federal Reserve. See, Obama has created change already.

It's more like, EVERY person who might be qualified for the job has one problem or another. Meanwhile, somebody has to get the job done.
