Looks like things are heating up on the campaign front.. . A remix of an Apple Computer ad, "1984" has shown up on the internet. The ad features a female athlete with a sledge hammer running towards a wide screen where a larger than life democratic Presidential Candidate HIllary Clinton is speaking in a loud monotone. The woman attacks the screen. Then the words appear: On Jan 14th the Democratic primary will begin, and you will see why 2008 won't be like 1984. Obama's campaign says it has absolutely no idea where the ad came from. . . .

Yeah I saw this a couple weeks ago.
But I wonder if it is just anti-Obama and Clinton. (It tarnishes Obama's image just a bit.)
Regardless, it is cleverly done.

Yeah, it will be interesting if they can get to the bottom of it and see who is actually responsible for it. I wonder if it can be done. Anyone know?

It was a strong message. It referemses Obama.com or whatever his election site is. I would venture to guess it was from a creative, possible slightly overzelous member of Obama's election staff. The bad thing is, it makes both of them (Hillary and Obama) look bad.

Look at this to be the new face of election campaigning. It will only turn uglier because the candidate can easily claim "hey I know nothing about this" and it doesn't need to be publically sponsored.

Well, if that is true then Obama needs to reign in his staff because ultimately it reflects back on him. He can't hire staff to work for him and then cut them loose when they do something a little edgy. .

I agree - and I think it's going to get bad on all fronts before it gets better. I'm thinking I'll just keep the TV off for the next 10 months and see who's left standing.
