I think you're overdoing the drugs. He "may" be the immediate front runner, but that's like being the captain on a ship that's taking on water fast. How many of the "family values" crowd is going to be for a guy who admitted he cheated on his wife?
Romney would have no use for a VP spot with Newt. Not sure about Jindal, he may be that opportunistic, but most of the R posters on here keep assuring us that he's pretty darn smart.
I could see Newt doing well with the rabid mouth breathers, but he'll have to fight Palin for that wing of the party. If he won the nomination I could see him winning a solid 44% +/- in the general.
It amazes me that the republicans have had so much trouble finding someone to run who managed to keep their marriage vows sacred.
Newt served his wife with divorce papers while she was in the recovery room after cancer surgery. That should make him a shoo-in among the Family Values crowd.
