1976, people thought the GOP was heading for the grave...

Then people realized that a socialist president was even worse in 1980...

Now if the GOP will just get rid of the RINO's and put real conservatives in the next primary, they stand a good chance of turning the tide. If they stick another RINO in though, it will be another defeat...

Great illustration!

Liberals have a real problem: They don't think sh*t stinks. The challenges America faced (Iran, economy, etc.) under Jimmy Carter are staggeringly similar to what is happening under Obama. The difference is in the spending, of which Obama trumps Carter and every other president combined. This Administration, and it's loyal followers, would be making a collossal mistake in thinking that history is not capable of repeating itself come 2012.

One item of trivia, for those of us old enough to remember. Back in those days the Republican Party was traditionally representended by BLUE while the Democrats were RED. I clearly remember the Reagan landslide of '84 with the entire map save one state BLUE. The symbolism back then was quite clear RED=Soviet Union=Communism=Big Government, socialism, etc. At some point recently there was a COORDINATED effort by the media to make the switch to what we see today.

Color studies show that blue is a soothing color, a 'feel good' color.

The studies also show that red is an alarmist, upsetting color. It's used to signify danger.

Funny but in 1976, it was supposed to be the 'end of the Republicans' after Watergate and so Jimmy Carter was elected.

Odd how that didn't quite work out since starting in 1980, 20 of the 28 succeeding years were under a Republican president.

Aren't the values of this country that the average American is supposed to do things for themselves?

I have yet to see ANYONE make a coherent factual argument showing Reagan to have been a bad president. I'd love to see you try.

Our current economic model is one based on Reagan's model on steroids.

You could also look at his foreign policy which served primarily to oppress third world countries, particularly in South America.

Iran-Contra.
