CNN has a story today that Andrew Cuomo will run on the DEM ticket for Governor of New York.

Excerpts from the CNN story:

"Our state government in Albany is disreputable and discredited. NY is upside down and backwards. High taxes and low performance. The NY government was at one time a national model. Now unfortunately it's a national disgrace," adds Cuomo. "We must use this moment to reorganize the government, reform its ethics, and restructure its finances to solve the problems we have ignored for too long."

Polls indicate NY voters overwhelming support Cuomo for his work as the state's top law enforcement official. Surveys also suggest that Cuomo holds very large leads over possible Republican contenders...Cuomo also holds a large fundraising lead over his opponents.

I wonder if this piece from the Village Voice, a very liberal paper, will come back to haunt him in the election campaign:

Andrew Cuomo made a series of decisions between 1997 and 2001 that gave birth to the country's current crisis. He took actions tha helped plunge Fannie and Freddie into the subprime markets without putting in place the means to monitor their increasingly risky investments. He turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded "kickbacks" to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans.

Default some electorate he has there...

Cuomo jr, the author of a modern day witch hunt is a favored candidate?

He threatened the AIG bonus recipients with revealing their names as he played to the emotional outcry of mob mentality, apparently to enhance his reputation for future political aspirations.

How does it make sense for a prosecutor to 'persecute' an employee who recieved a bonus?

Beyond that, his action which threatened to reveal names of the bonus recipients, appears as an imprimater for an already emotionally charge public to 'take matters into their own hands". Otherwise what purpose would it serve to reveal names as those folks were already receiving death threats?

Cjr may have a fine reputation otherwise but the cut of cloth he revealed in the AIG persecution, hints at a seriously flawed perspective which is sure unravel at the most inopportune moment in the future.

I'm here to tell you. New Yorkers.

Anytime you elect a Democrat, you are bound to continue wasteful spending.

I'm not saying this to offend anyone. It's just the truth. The truth.

I live in Michigan. Jennifer Granholm has destroyed our state.

Dammit New York ... tighten your belts and hold on. Do the right thing and get frugal. It will benefit your children.

Do not elect Cuomo.
