The Chinese EV companies are becoming bankrupt but hopefully several will survive. It would be nice to have low cost EV's as China has.

From what I have read, it is highly competitive and fairly chaotic over there, with many players and a demanding customer base. Some companies have been running into serious financial trouble as TT notes, but so far, the Chinese government has been keeping them afloat (like Nio) with financial assistance.

BYD has been doing very well overall, and their products are well reviewed and have performed very well in European standard NCAP safety testing. Despite their models being offered in a number of European nations, they haven't really taken off there much so far. This could be in part due to the Chinese support of Russia's invasion/war in Ukraine being strongly opposed by many in Europe, who fear they could be next. So far the US has used stiff tariffs to keep BYD at bay, and the politicians have been talking about increasing them further.

Fine, don't see a problem. I have a Chinese EV though so I'm maybe biased. The tech at this point pretty rampant with most manufacturers using Chinese batteries in their lower end EVs (LFP). They overbuilt over in China so they're going to be aggressive shipping out both components and cars over the coming years. For right now the US market won't really see it though.
