I think the religious right could find a much better mouthpiece. Ms. Prejean's nude photos, lying bout them to pageant officials and repeatedly breaking their rules about interviews and appearances make her more of a distraction than an advocate.

True that.

The latest numbers on divorce rates show a decline - something like 3.5 per 1000 or 35%. However, that's probably due to the fact that the number of people getting married has also declined. Statistics point out that the rate of marriage has fallen 50% since 1970.

If one drew an analogy, you could compare that to a teacher. Say you had someone teaching a course where what they taught was wrong more than a third of the time. Or if one had a teacher who didn't even bother to get a degree, yet boasted that they could be proficient in dispensing knowledge.

That's why, as a married heterosexual, I've always minded my own damned business about civil unions between same-sex partners. We have no business dictating the decision about such an exalted state when we, ourselves, can barely get it right

I really hope she goes on the bigger and better things. She is deserving of it. Not many people nowdays speak up for anything.

haha. why not speak up about why the family unit is breaking down and realizing gay marriage has nothing to do with it and using an erroneous scapegoat. lol

gay marriage has nothing to do with the problems of heterosexual relationships. maybe those individuals have character problems themselves or are immature. i guess if a husband beats his wife, we can blame it on the homosexual couple next door. lol or how about if the wife is a ***** or a bad mother we can blame it on homosexuality. lol. how about we blame homosexuals for hetersexual men who molest children. lol

maybe she should think instead of perpetuating bigoted ideals because of ignorance.

Again, I see more fuss over her ignorant wording and dim bulb delivery of her answer then the fact she is not for gay marriage rights.
The majority of her state voted against them. Her opinion could have been presented in a less childish, less ridiculous manner and perhaps it would have not been such a huge issue. In America, various opinions are ok, but think before you speak. CERTAINLY to the very openly gay Hilton who is judging.

it was obvious she added that quip to alleviate herself from judgement of her bigoted opinion. that also was dumb because it is incorrect in context.

if she had just left that out and stated why besides saying something as dumb as 'i was raised to believe' then she would have some credibility as a thinking adult. as if being raised to believe something makes it right, lol.
Some of these errors should have been delt with in elementary school.
Others are personal in nature. When you reach beyond your abilities you don't fool anyone.
This is the first and it will be the last time I respond to something like this.
The debate is very old and the result is always the same.

SO, who feels this person deserves props now that not one but two partially nude pictures have been uncovered of her. Pictures she lied about when signing her contract with the pageant people, pictures that will more then likely make her loose her crown as Miss California?

That's what got me.

Hearing someone speak out against gay unions on tv? *yawn* I wonder what Spouse is fixing for supper. But her delivery was rather spectacular in its idiocy. You couldn't do anything but gawk

I saw the first one (tossing a saucy look over her shoulder as she stood, bare breasted and wearing cut-up-to-there pink panties). Haven't come across the other.

A comment was made that she was showing as much skin in that pic as her pageant bikini walk. I beg to differ. I'm picturing the photographer directing the 17-year-old in capturing the pose: "ok, honey, move your arm just a bit. A little higher. THERE! You're legally at the age where this would be kiddie porn, but not if we don't show the nipple."
