I'm going to see U2 at Stadio Olimpico in Rome next week. This will be my first time in Rome (and in Europe).
I understand that Stadio Olimpico is situated in the northern part of Rome, across the
Tiber River. I think it is on Lungotere Maresciallo Diaz.
Due to the stadium's location, I decided to book a few nights at the Farnesina Hotel, which is located on Via della Farnesina. I don't think this hotel is too far from the stadium.
What is the neighborhood like in that area of Rome north of the Tiber River?
Would it be possible for me walk from the Farnesina Hotel to Stadio Olimpico and back?
Is it safe to walk in that part of Rome at night?
Almost all tourist maps highlight the center of the city of Rome, and never mention the sections of Rome north of the Tiber River. So I'm kind of at a loss.
Can you guys give me any details on this particular part of Rome? Can anyone here assist me?
