I think it's not that it's UNPOPULAR...it just has a lot of serious competition all around it. I mean, it's an hour from Vienna...and Prague is nearby, and Munich is not too far away. Budapest isn't all that far away either.
When a person's trip is limited, it's difficult to devote much time to little Bratislava or Slovakia. Particularly when all those other cities around it offer A LOT...way more than most people's time allows.
Why is Belgium so unpopular compared to the Netherlands?
Why is portugal so unpopular compared to Spain?
Why is austria so unpopular compared to Germany?
That's an excellent point, I mean how many people really thing of Uruguay if they want to experience gaucho culture or Guatemala when thinking of the Mayans.

Because its a small country in Eastern Europe, again its not in my periphery and most likely because its a very different culture and society to where I live.
In my periphery is USA, Western Europe. I have no interest in visiting Eastern Europe and I really do not care that I have not visited Eastern Europe either. Sorry if I have offended you but its just the way I see Eastern Europe as a country out of my zone and quite often corrupt.
and I see western European nations as corrupt, stupid and with their heads up their own ass, thinking they are better than eastern European nations
don't worry, we all want British culture in eastern Europe, hahahaha
