Of course, this should be in the Russian thread, but it was forbidden to publish a video in Russian, so let it be here.

Spoiler

We had heaps of problems
We all hated life
We said it’s better to f*king die
Than live like this

That we are up to our ears in sh*t
Our country is a sh*th*le
Duma is full of thieves
Every film is about Petrov
Traffic jams are everywhere
Air is polluted, there’s no sun
And the traffic cop’s a wanker

But it turned out that
Everything was f**king awesome
Coronavirus, coronavirus
Just f**k off

But it turned out that
Everything was f**king awesome
Coronavirus, sh*tty virus
Sh*tty virus, just f**k off

Let the country be a sh*th*le again
We like living amongst our lovely s**t
Let them change the Constitution
Fifteen times a week

Let them s**t on our rights
Export wood to China
Increase retirement age
To seventy-two
Let our cool policemen beat the s**t out of us
With their truncheons all day long

Hey Coronavirus, coronavirus
Why are you so nasty?
Explain to us, coronavirus
Why do you keep hassling all of us?

Maybe you just got really angry
Because you were born in some sh*th*le
And lived in poo, and bats
And hang out inside dead rats

And then you came out, here I f**king am
I’m gonna show you now who’s the daddy
Gonna make you all really scared of me
Wash your bloody hands, sit in the f**king houses

But listen, coronavirus
We have so much in common
We also live in Russia
And are familiar with your problems

Our life is also hard, and complicated
But we don’t go around killing old people
We are obviously not making their life easier
But to kill them – that’s just over the top

We can also very easily show everyone on the planet
Who’s the f**king daddy
But we just put up with it, we just took the Crimea
Soft power – that’s our trick

Where are your values, coronavirus?
Remember, you don’t choose your motherland
There are many wonderful places in the world
But there’s no place like home

Bugger off back to the rat’s sh*th*le
And stay away from our sh*th*le
Let everyone sit in their own f**king sh*th*le
And let others sit in theirs

Stop getting angry, coronavirus
Just look at yourself, you are so pretty
You’re so round, so covered in flowers
You look absolutely f**king awesome

Practice some anger management in your sh*th*le
See a psychologist, do meditation
Learn to love yourself, coronavirus
And f**k off away from us

Let everything go back to
How it used to be - f**king awesome
Coronavirus, coronavirus
Come on, just f**k off

Let everything go back to, go back to
How it used to be - f**king awesome
Coronavirus, sh*tty virus
Sh*tty virus, just f**k off

F**k off away from us
Go f**k somebody else

No, f**k off away from everyone
F**k off away from everyone
Yes, f**k off away from everyone

Slepakov rocks as ever.
I wonder whether there is a translation of his "Arguments between the husband and wife" that he sings with M. Kravets?
(Although I am afraid of course, that any translation won't do them justice - too much will be lost. )

Yes, the effect of our great and powerful Russian Language (Великий могучий русский язык) was definitely
lost in Google translation...

Oh, it's not that simple. Non-normative vocabulary appeared in the literary Russian language for a reason. One of the reasons is, oddly enough, Vysotsky (and other poets his peers). They raised the classic versification to a level that can only be repeated, but not surpassed. How can you beat it?

https://youtu.be/UY3xVW3s0D4

https://youtu.be/tWS6JA3Sk9c
And what remains for contemporary poets? To write poetry and hear as praise: "Very good! You are modern Vysotsky!" No, new poets do not want to be "like Vysotsky". For creativity it is important to break down barriers.
The beginning of this is in the late 80s. The last Russian-speaking Nobel Prize went to Svetlana Aleksievich, but in fact it would be better to give it to the postmodernists Sorokin or Pelevin. Their works showed how the Russian language is changing, expanded the scope of what is possible in literary Russian. They are very cool. Creativity of Slepakov or Shnurov is the result of this expansion, postmodernism has emerged into popular culture. Btw, both Slepakov and Shnurov are fluent in Russian, you should not think that this is something simple. No, it's complicated, just different.

At the same time, more serious writers, for example, Elizarov (he is not only a poet, but also a good writer, whose novels have awards and are translated into other languages) go even further in their work, producing not popular, but elite poems. I think that will sound even worse for you. And if 10 years ago he wrote stories (funny, sad or serious):

https://youtu.be/eAMFcX2Z9Bs
now he is more and more going into abstraction (which I don’t really like, by the way):

https://youtu.be/roz_LD70HII
So, it's not that simple...

It is rather simple. Simple and vulgar.
I do not see what is good in Elizarov, sorry.
Shnur disgusts me.
Slepakov, as we already talked about him long time ago - has too much profanity and "guano" in his lyrics. Literally.
As we already talked long time ago - Beauty will save the world, not vulgarity.
Maybe they appeal to and build their popularity (hence, profit) on 20 million Russian people that live in poverty and fight every day for survival?
Slepakov's satira, songs about "people living in ****" exist for, what - 20 years now? Since his KVN days?
What good came out of that guano? What changed? - Nothing. You have the same president for 20 years (and , probably more). And, listen to the same songs.
Per Russian proverb - "You cannot jump higher than one's head" - "Вы́ше головы́ не пры́гнешь".
Slepakov may be has something going for him, but, he is not Vysotsky, not by a long shot.

Ok, got it out of my chest, going back to sewing masks...Stay safe there!
