Kind of a random question but can you bring knitting needles into Spain? they are 4.0 mm and they are plastic. I just figured knitting will be a good way to kill time while I am on the plane. I am flying United Airline (USA) to Madrid and I was wondering if I was allowed to bring them into the country? mind you this is my first time abroad so I really don't know.

Check TSA regulations. The issue won't be with Spain, but the security measures of the US airport when you board the flight.

The USA takes draconian measures at airports.
They're worse than any other airports I've ever been in - I've flown in and out of 60 countries.

Why is it uncalled for?
The measures the US takes are what's uncalled for.
