Belarus is definitely underrated and deserves at least 30-40 million international tourist visitors annually. People have overly-idealistic/romantic views of France and the UK.
Didn't like Belarus at all. Sure Minsk has some cool spots but anything close to a "standard" beautiful european city. Can't really associate the word romantic with Minsk...by the way it has a very good nightlife I was impressed by

Let's see. I have short list:

Southeast Italy on the Adriatic, Southern Abruzzo down the Mediterranean heel and sole of the boot,.... and Anacapri!
Southeast Portugal border with Spain and the Northern Strip from East to West
Spain, the Basque region, the Pyrenees, Aragon, the Northern and Western border strips of Catalonia
Slovenia, mountainous parts in and around the Soca Valley and Bled
Croatia, the Gospic and Zadar regions
France, the Pyrenees and Languedoc and Paris
Greece, there's always a new island

These are the areas I almost always return to. One outlier: Macedonia. I've only been to the vibrant city of Skopje, but would like to explore the interior.

What didn't you like in particular? I've been living in Minsk all my life and feel OK about it. (and I don't care about nightlife at all).
Lukashenko's politics do not automatically make Minsk a "bad" city.

I would travel to most of them, but I do have some favorites.

Italy
France
Greece
Turkey
Germany
Switzerland
Hungary
Spain
UK
Iceland

It's really not in any order of preference. I love to immerse myself in a culture. I have been to Europe several times, and will go back this summer for a long trip. We will probably do Greece and Turkey.

As tourist I didn't care about Lukashenko and how the country was ruled, and I didn't mean Minsk is a bad/ugly city...it's just that the are so many better (more beautiful) city in Europe alone than MINSK.. nothing really great to see there..I can think at least one hundred cities I enjoyed more.. I've been also in Mogilev and that means I've travelled a bit in Belarus and I don't know why but I simply didn't like the overall vibe.
I'm sure You're OK Living There As probably lots of other people..absolutely nothing wrong nor weird about it. Maybe it depends on what one is used to.
