Which country has percentage-wise the highest frequency of indigenous Europeans with dark hair and dark eyes in Europe, and which European country has the largest in terms of numbers of dark-eyed, brunettes, usually olive-skinned? I took a list of the Southern European countries which would qualify for this. Keeping in mind that the first Europeans inhabitans were not blonde Caucasoids, but predominantly dark-haired, dark-eyed, olive-skinned.

Greece
Italy
Albania
Bulgaria
Macedonia
Serbia
Bosnia
Spain
Portugal
Georgia
Romania

Which one do you think?
Please do not refer to non-indigenous European immigrants who are obviously not indigenous to the continent of Europe.

From Corleone, Sicily (Italy)

I also chose the Southern European, because it it the region of Europe with the lowest frequency
for blonde and light hair, light eyes and red hair which is easily linked to fair skin. Thus which Southern European is for sure the most brunet?

for light eyes

For red hair:

Southern Europeans are also the most diverse genetically, due to the fact this region at one point of time was the crossroads between the rest of Europe and the Middle-East.

A genetic map based on pigmentation of the averaged frequencies of 3 genes that involved in light hair and light eyes:

It is that in Southern Europe that brunetteness is greatest for Europeans.

Of your list it would be Georgia, followed by Greece and Albania. As a region Sicily would be comparable to Greece. Greeks are likely the darkest skinned (outside of Georgia), and Italians are typically darker skin pigmented than Spanish/Portuguese.

generally the more south you go the darker it gets. That's true not only for the whole continent but for individual countries like Italy, Spain and Greece.

Here's a beautiful greek actress called Maria Solomou:

The Sicilian woman in the op looks interesting, cool hair
Her eyes look Lebanese...

I always have a problem with the term "olive skin", though.

I know a lot of Italians who don't have brown hair though, including some from the south. Actually I think they look very diverse physically.

In italy si a battle between Sardinia and Calabria.

But i think calabria has also a noticeable number of pseudo-Levantine people.

However the look of that girl above is extremely rare in Italy; I' d say more rare than a platinum blond.
