Generally speaking Milan is more modern, international and has a better economy, and certainly Rome is more beautiful, while it also has aspects that are modern, international of course, and economically gainful.

Again, generally speaking Milan is a place that young people go to start careers, gain experience and earn a fortune, while Rome is the place to spend it, so to speak.

Good Luck!

Milan might be more international (in business) but Rome is definitely more internationally known.

What city is more modern and imternational? What city has a better economy?

Milan is the more modern and dynamical city of the two, most of the main Italian companies are based there and is the seat of the Italian stock exchange. It can be even noticed in Milan hosting the EXPO and having a growing skyline. It's the heart of Italian industry and economic might and that makes it the place with the best economy in the country

What city is more beautiful?

How much a city is beautiful but the consensus in Italy and abroad is that Rome is the most beautiful city of the two. Milan actually has the reputation of a grey, industrial, grime city but that's just a reputation and nothing more. Anyway, Rome is known for its baroque buildings, for its museums, for its Roman ruins and for a heritage that lasted 2500 years which make it one of the most lovely city of all of Europe. Milan's most lovely neighbourhoods are outside of the city center as the icty center got bombed in World War Two but it still holds several historical monuments and works of art.

What are the differences between rome and milan?

Milan is cleaner, more orderly, it's greener, more well maintained than Rome but most of all it's where there are the most job opportunities in the country. In short, Milan is more of a city to live and establish a family whereas Rome is more of a city to visit although it's probably a more vibrant, laid back, nightlife oriented place.

Source: i have been to both cities although shortly in Rome and have relatives in Milan
