I enjoy learning about WW2, especially soviets and nazis, so what should I visit while I will be in Germany?
It has to be absolutely free and around the northern pays off Germany (above Belgium if you draw a horizontal line to the right).
Sometimes sites are absolutely free but have hidden costs.
Take Sachsenhausen concentration camp for example. It is free to enter. But is on the outer part of Berlin so you need a 3 zone pass or ticket to go by train. That costs extra. You can walk around but may not learn as much as you would with an audio guide, which again costs a few euros ( I think it was 3 euros when I went).
Potsdam has a couple of sites - post WWII conference (but costs 6 euros to go inside) and cold war Bridge of spies (Glienicke Bridge), which is free.
House of the Wannsee Conference, KZ Sachsenhausen, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Flakturm Humboldthain, Führerbunker site
Thank you!

I'm not going by train, I have a bike. :-) I also don't mind no your guide - for me a huge part of the experience is just seeing it in an authentic form as possible. Thanks for informing though. Also, I hate it when you can enter just a part of it and have to pay for the rest... Example - Polish castle. That I do consider very sneaky way of hiding cost.....
North of Belgium is a pretty big area can you say a bit more exactly where you will travel?
To the west Ahrnheim and Nijmegen in the Netherlands close to the German boarder would definitly be worth it. Maybe a bit too far south but Hürtgenwald is defenitly a historical site. Save a couple of Euros and go to the battelfield museums it's woth it and not too expensive.

Well, I do not have a route yet, that's part of the reason for why I created this thread - to be able to choose a route of some sort, hehe. As for saving a couple of euros, as long as it's literally a couple for everything (2-3),that's not an option and I will leave it for later in life instead.

In Berlin, visit the USSR WW2 Victory Memorial in the Tiergarten just a few hundred meters west of Brandenburg Gate. This was built in the summer of 1945 when it was surrounded by the ruins of Berlin and the Reichstag building (just north of the monument). Also visit the USSR war memorial and cemetery at Treptower Park. Both have many statues and memorial plaques typical of the Soviet Union in the post WW2 era, all intact and protected sites.

That sounds amazing, thank you!
