Am planning a two-month trip to Nerja, Spain, in April and May. However, I need to know if Nerja holds any of the bloody fiestas I've read about. Would like to avoid such. Advice, please. Thanks.
Possibly you believe that when your visiting a Spanish city is mandatory to go watch the bulls .-
Except that in your country be mandatory to visit the municipal slaughterhouse, the boxing etc etc
.ja ja ja.-
I do believe that April and May is "Gerbils & Hamsters Meet Woodchipper Days" in the central plaza of Nerja.
Just remember to stay upwind of the spray.

They have a couple oif Festivals, one at Easter (Religous) and one in October, I don't think either involves animal cruelty.
You're never going to see this in any city center, especially the an English resort community like Nerja. You'd have to venture out into the countryside, probably not the type of place you'd go anyway, to find something like this. Bull-fighting on the other hand, is prevalent in Andalusia, but you can just as easily not go watch a match.
