I feel like the Maghrebis in Paris are like the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans in NYC. Here’s why.

Long colonial history

Been there for decades but PRs and DRs are not seen as fully “American” and the same for Maghrebis not seem as fully French.

Often are marginalized, seen as unassimilable (although for PRs I feel this is rapidly changing)

They are often in close contact with black people.

They even look alike.
