Yes I know, as I have contacts in the UK who are talking about this. But the UK also went into lockdown at the onset of the pandemic but still did not impose travel bans, so it isn't a given.

The UK has had a number of travel bans in place on a country by country basis, whilst all none essential travel is now coming under review.
Many flights are now being cancelled and from the 5th November, travel in to the UK and Europe will be difficult and will involve two weeks quarantine for countries not on the UK travel corridor list, which includes the US and the Americas.

Anyone arriving in England from abroad will need to quarantine for two weeks if they are coming from a country that isn't on the official travel corridor list.
I arrived yesterday at Frankfurt airport on a flight from Chicago. I went through the immigration check point in about 10 seconds, fastest I can recall entering into any country where immigration control was required. No line at all, which is due to reduced airport traffic in the covid era. I presented my US passport and my Germany residence card (Aufenthaltserlaubnis). They scanned my passport, looked at the residence card (expires July 2021) and handed them back and waved me through. No questions or anything. I was surprised at that.
Glad you had an easy experience and thanks for the reply, but I was looking for stories from non-EEA resident qualifying family members of EEA member country citizens residing abroad. They are exempt from the travel bans to Europe, but until I posted here I had not heard of any actual stories of qualifying family members traveling to Europe. Of course legal EEA residents will be allowed in.
