I used to live there. But it's very expensive. I thinking of traveling around the world for sometime.

I would have thought that would be the sensible option.

New York is New York, and unique, just as Paris is Paris.

Cities in the Americas, Africa and Eastern Europe became less costly over the year, while those in Westerm Europe became relatively more expensive, in part reflecting a rise in European currencies against the US dollar. Upasana Dutt, who oversees the Worldwide Cost of Living report at The Economist Intelligence Unit, says some of the currency weakness was because the survey took place in September, when the Americas were suffering acutely from the pandemic.

On a more positive note - my kids have been saying Austria is pretty inexpensive - so maybe that's an option. However, you can't move to the EU for more than 90 days without a visa and private health insurance. Your first step is to figure out how to get a long term visa - not easy.

I think a lot of large cities in Europe will also be a bit on the pricy side.

The closest I've experienced to an NYC vibe in Europe were parts of London like Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street.

Parts of Paris like Avenue de L'Opera can feel like that too.

I find the pace of London most similar to that of NYC. Also, the theater, museums and concerts are also readily available as in NYC. Excellent public transportation. Easy international transportation..

In a covid-less world, that is.

London in feel with theatres and urbanity.
Paris for street cafes and culture... and cleanliness (Sorry Paris, I still love you!)
Madrid for the late night and generally, late night feel.
Berlin for the uniqueness.

Berlin isn't as large as NYC but it fits your requirements.

Really most decently sized European cities can give you the experience of walkability, outdoor dining, and diverse food options.
London?
