Can anyone suggest the best Canary Island(s) in which to spend January and February? Would like to be in the sunniest place possible, in an interesting, attractive city or town(s), with the emphasis on culture, arts, and history, and safe for a senior lady. Have been to Spain and Portugal but not the Canaries yet. Any advice or suggestions?
For culture, arts, and history, you'd probably be better served with La Laguna on Tenerife or Santa Cruz de La Palma.
Forget any comparisons with the peninsula, museums in Madrid or Barcelona, etc.
Now, another option which you might consider is combine a Madeira/Porto Santo vacation.
