My dad was Danish ancestry and had dark hair and brown eyes. However, he'd never be taken to be a native Greek, Moroccan, or Turk.
I visited Afghanistan in 1977. Quite a few people had beautiful green eyes and some had natural reddish streaks in their dark hair. However, they'd never be taken to be a native Swede or Irish.
And look at the blond-haired Vanuatuans. They'd never be taken to be native European.
People's ethnicity can't be pinned down strictly by their coloring.
Rubbish! One of these guys is Scottish and the other is Spanish:
This is an excellent photo collection! I have never visited Stockholm - only visited Malmö in 1976 on a day trip from Copenhagen, when a hydrofoil was the fast way to go (long before the bridge from Denmark to Sweden was built).
The old photos show all the right-side drive vehicles in the left lane (like the UK, Malta, Cyprus & Ireland still use). I remember reading about the day of chaos when Sweden changed from left lane to right lane driving - September 3, 1967.
YOU invited me to comment so why feign surprise!? Besides I have a point don't you think?
I didn't specifically invite you, just mentioned your name, and there you are.
And what "point" do you have?
I never said that they were all supposed to be blond.
But they all looked tall and pasty white to me, as the "Northerners" usually are on average)))

That was undoubtedly an invite for me to comment Is English not your first language? I thought all northern Europeans were supposed to be blond and blue eyed!!?
To be honest I'm not sure what Barak Obama has to do with Sean Connery and Angel Miguel Jiminez being completely interchangeable with each others respective countries?

Of course it is.
And I was born in London, on the banks of Thames river.
How could you forget Easthome)))
And no, not all Northern Europeans are blond and blue eyed, but many are.
And if they are not, and have brown hair, they still look "Northern" if they are "northerners")))

From my post #10 you extrapolated a different meaning than I intended. I tried to steer it back on course by giving another example -- that Connery and Obama aren't interchangeable in looks.
If you reread #10, you'll see what I meant: regardless of coloring, a native Dane isn't going to look like a native Turk or Afghani -- they aren't interchangeable in looks.
Connery and Jiminez are too similar to compare.
