John Demjanjuk is not an isolated case. German investigators have set their sights on other presumed Nazi war criminals, raising the question of how the law should deal with the aged accessories of the Holocaust.

You obviously don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about. Prosecuting murderers is never ridiculous no matter how old they are. The problem lies more in the choice of who is prosecuted why and when. But even when considering the bad choices taken over decades and allt the guys having gotten away with much worse, I can't see this neccessarily means all other should run free as well.

I'm willing to bet there are Islamic terrorist cells within Germany that are way more of a threat than 90 year old men. If they're going after these old war criminals, I hope it's a case of them pretty much falling in their laps and they're not putting too much effort/resources into this.
That's probably why more islamic terrorists have been trialed in the last years than 90 yrs olds.

My guess is a lot of Islamic terrorist types, very few Nazi war criminals and still way more terrorist types out there no matter what the ratio of terrorists to Nazis are... like that even matters.
Then there's the drug kingpins and the human/sex trafficking that goes through Europe.... So yeah, I hope this one just fell into their laps.

Maybe you misread my post. Germany has trialed several terrorists and zero Nazi war criminals in the past, say, 3 yrs. That's not very surprising and not very interesting.
So what's your point? You're saying only the worst handful of criminals (which of course are always bearded arab teeeeeeeeeeeeeerrorists by default) should be prosecuted but nobody else?
