While I understand this is a very subjective question, I'm still in the very initial stages of fact-finding for a semester study abroad program my junior year of college. I am currently a freshman so it's still early, but I'm trying to get as ahead of the game as possible. Basically, given the choice between Ireland/Scotland or Italy, what would you choose and why? I'm not looking for a super wild party scene; I'm looking for the real culture of the place. I realize Italy is the more "attractive" destination, but something about Ireland and Scotland has lured me in, perhaps due to my Scotch-Irish heritage or something like that. My choices in Ireland/Scotland would be Stirling, Cork, or Limerick, and my primary Italian choices would be Torino and Perugia. Thanks all in advance.
Why is Italy the more "attractive" destination? Don't get me wrong, I love Italy but I wasn't aware it was considered a more desirable destination than anywhere else. Both Scotland and Ireland are amazing countries. Honestly, I think you'd be happy studying in any of them but of course there's a the language barrier in Italy. And especially given your heritage in Scotland and Ireland, I would lean more towards one of them.
