Good read. It would be amusing if it weren't so true. I've felt this way about some diets and even a few training styles for a long time.

I like the article. While I personally don't follow any specific "diets" myself, I am very very impressed with the paleo diet. I base this on my own knowledge of healthy eating and nutrition, and on the high number of people I personally know who are on this "diet" (I use quotes because its their lifestyle, not their diet) and are getting tremendous results.

Ive been doing this for so long now, I just know what to eat and how much to eat so I don't follow any of these fad/cult diets.

Applied knowledge trumps all when it comes to healthy eating - knowing what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat.

In answer to your question. No.

The article applies to many things. Just change the word "diet" to supplements, MLM, beliefs, political parties, religion, etc.

IMO, for simplicity when I post, diet = way of eating, aka lifestyle, not necessarily a specific "diet" unless referred to by name.

Bottom line, find what works for you, regardless of the source and ignore the naysayers.

Yes, its an issue of religion however. In hinduism, diet is one of the primary characteristics which define the type of lifestyle we live. I don't eat meat, seafood, mushrooms, or eggs for this reason. We hail from a specific caste which equates eating such foods with rejection of sanctity. That's one reason I am significantly weaker than most men and women in the US.

I call mine "coaches diet"

when I was about 17 my football coach told me "If you can grow it or kill it, you should eat it"

works alright with some moderations

cult warning :P
