Hi,
I was a good player of Taekwondo and played from 1994 to 2001. During initial training I got slipped and my elbow joint displaced. That time my age was 23. My friend fixed it by stretching it towards him. After that i visited a local surgeon and he Bandaged a temporary Frame over my elbow to avoid movement. After a couple of weeks when it was removed i found that my elbow is not working and i could not move it properly. It looked jammed. I started exercises and started increasing load on it. Gradually it improved.
Now my age is about 34 and feeling pain in my elbow. Pain started after a jerk in my arm due to i missed something which i was going to hit with my punch.
Is there any special exercise from which i may be able to make my elbow strong. XRays are clear and nothing is found in them. Doctor advised me only pain killers. Can any one give me sample pictures or a reference to improve my arm.
Take every piece of advice in this thread with a grain of salt. I don't have my internet physical therapist certification, so I won't be giving advice.
It doesn't sound the same but you can google tennis elbow or golfers elbow. There is too much info to list here. As tommodonahue said I would take a lot of it with a grain of sand. But a lot of it is the same as the physical therapist will give you.
You also should have the soft tissue examined with a MRI and exam by a doctor who has experience in treated sports related injuries. An x-ray won't show soft tissue issues. I don't advise pain killers at all because they can actually impede healing. You really need a different doctor.
"You should be careful what painkillers you take for fractures, sprains or ruptured tendons, because some of the common medications may slow healing. The painkillers that are implicated are called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and include ibuprofen and naproxen."
Its better to eat anti-inflammatory foods and avoid inflammatory foods while using the hot/cold pack rotation for pain.
